2013 Little West Java Trip Report

Finally got the intention chance to blog about my trip to Bogor, Jakarta and Bandung last January to February. It was a great fun trip where I could see many pretty things and also meet my very darling old friends. Oh ya, I was going with my sister and other two friends, Yorris and Meli.

Let's talk about the Bogor first. We spent only one day at Bogor but Meli and Nico kindly took us to several places like Kampung Daun (that took one and a half hour from the city), Rumah Air, Ah Poong and some other places. I am not even sure about the names anymore since it's been long, so excuse my mistakes if I did any LOL. Didn't take too many pictures there but here are some we took at Bogor.

Family portrait much? LOL

Before heading to Bandung, we made a stop for one night at Jakarta. We went to a lot of places, but most of them are malls and also eating places so I didn't manage to take many pictures. But what made me happy was we got the chance to meet many old pals that we haven't met for quite a long time (also Felly, my sistaaaaa haha). Blessed is blessed :)

Okay, last stop on our little West Java trip, Bandung. This city is a very nice city, in my very opinion. It is not as large as Jakarta and it is not as crowded as Jakarta too, of course. Our city tour guide, Mister Yoris took us to many pretty places and here are some.

First, Boscha Observatory. What I know about this place is simply this was where Petualangan Sherina (le legendary Indonesian childhood movie LOL) took place. Took some pretty pictures here and then left because it was closed when we got there.

The next destination was the Tangkuban Perahu. Tangkuban Perahu (spelt Tangkuban Parahu in the local Sundanese dialect) is a dormant volcano 30 km north of the city of Bandung, the provincial capital of West Java, Indonesia. It last erupted in 1959. It is a popular tourist attraction where tourists can hike or ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot water springs and boiling mud up close, and buy eggs cooked on the hot surface. This stratovolcano is on the island of Java and last erupted in 1983. Together with Mount Burangrang and Bukit Tunggul, those are remnants of the ancient Mount Sundaafter the plinian eruption caused the Caldera to collapse. (from Wikipedia)

Next is the other most famous tourist attraction and pre-wedding photo place near Bandung, yep it was Kawah Putih (or in English : White Crater). This place was really beautiful, but the smell of sulfur was pretty heavy there so I don't think you will manage to stay for hours there. A little trivia, when we were there, Dede Yusuf was doing a shooting for his campaign. He took a lot of people with him and I remember they shouted "Nomor tiga!" or something I don't really remember anymore. It was pretty fun watching them shoot and re-shoot for several times LOL.

I don't know why but I really love this picture.

There were still some other places we went to while we were in Bandung. Yoris also took us to Sapu Lidi (a restaurant where you can eat above a rice field), Takigawa (best Bandung night view, guaranteed) and also many other great eating spots. Thank you, Yoris for being such a great guide for us :))

Twilight view from Takigawa, super pretty.
Trying out the Takigawa roll something, not so special but still edible.
The real view look much better than in picture, I swear :)
Another just-for-fun fact from this trip. Every picture of four of us (me, Cindy, Yoris and Meli) was taken using the self timer, with no other people helping us. We put the camera on the rocks, hang it on the tree and surprisingly, every single of the picture looked good and not blurry :))

So that was my little story about my trip to Bogor, Jakarta and Bandung. I hope you enjoy this post and see you in another post. God bless yaaa :)
