2011 Xi'an Trip Photo Diary

This is a post about my past trip to Xi'an several years ago that I haven't been posting to the blog. It was one of my most memorable trip I have ever had while I was in China back then. Xi'an (used to be Chang An) holds one of Chinese oldest culture and it has been very popular internationally, due to its Terracotta Army and Warriors, which was also the main reason I really wanted to pay this city a visit.

I was going on a school trip with my schoolmates. The trip took 2-3 hours by plane from Guangzhou to Xi'an if I was not mistaken. The first place we visited was the 农民画博物馆 (Peasant Paintings Museum). The master there also demonstrated live to us how the painting was done. After that we went to the city and stopped at some river and city gate which I didn't think as interesting or such LOL.

Not only culture, Xi'An is also rich for its historical places. Those pictures above were taken at 杨家岭 (Yang Jia Ling). This place were the place where Maozedong and Zhouenlai have spent some time in, but since I didn't pay too much attention on the tour guide, I don't really know what they did there LOLOLOL. All I did was take pictures here, take pictures there #TouristWithGuidesFirstWorldProblem :))

We also visited 西安古城墙 (Xi'an City Wall). This wall was built within 1378-1379 (due to my research LOL) and has hold more than 600 years of history. Still standing tall and strong. (That is why you don't underestimate Chinese) :))

华山(Mount Hua) was one of China's Five Famous Mountains, around 120 km away from the city of Xi'an. The mountain was so big that I didn't manage to explore all of it (who can? LOL) but I wasn't exploring much since I was too lazy to do so while some of the tour mates were really excited to hike. I was kind of regretting though for not going and hike for more.

THIS WAS THE BEST PART OF THE WHOLE TRIP. I have been dreaming to see these things with my own eyes and there I was! All the tour mates were really excited when we reached 秦始皇兵马俑博物馆 (Terracotta Warriors Museum). It really felt so different seeing it by yourself than on the pictures or TV. They seemed so REAL. I really was amazed by how cool it was and how crazy it was that this was made thousands years ago.

Aside of those places above I have also visited many other places in Xi'an, like 华清池 (Hua Qing Chi), 回民街 (Hui Min Jie, a night market where Xi'an Muslims mostly stay), and some other museums I forgot. To be honest, the place that attracted me most was only the Terracotta Warriors Museum, but even so, I could say that Xi'an has to be on your to-visit list if you're traveling to China, it will be one amazing experience for you I could guarantee. But one thing to note, the food here was not really good, we ate plain Mantou and vegetables like everyday and every time, days and nights. Preparing some side dish or chili sauce would be wise, I guess.

So that was some cuts of my adventure (?) in Xi'an. I hope you guys enjoy it and don't forget to visit the city someday or you'll regret it LOL. Take care guys, see you in next posts.

Happy Weekend

Those above are just some of the "deliciousness" I have tasted this week. So thankful for this week and also for the October that is almost at its end. These are things that made my week. What are yours?

1. Randomly craved for a movie with caramel popcorn and iced lemon tea and it was granted. Randomly craved for JCO and some friend unexpectedly bought me those. I am one happy kiddo :))
2. Finally some new songs on the playlist. It has been almost ages since I last updated my song lists.
3. Chats, video calls and voice calls with good old friends. It is really good to catch up with the people. Oh ya, unexpectedly bumped to a friend whom I haven't seen in almost three years (seriously, Central Park mall is the place where the possibility of bumping to old friends is highest LOL).
4. Watched many movies at the cinema. Captain Phillips is highly recommended!
5. Ate many new and good food. My tummy is happy too :))
6. Having friends who are really good to me. I can't ask for any ones better.

Galaxy Girl

Galaxy has always been one of my favorite nail art designs and today was my second attempt of galaxy nails after my last attempt, which was already last year. I really think that this one's far better than my first attempt since the galaxy design is far more visible. I ruined the design on my pinkie nail because of the top coat though.

I was following a super simple tutorial from cutepolish on Youtube, and the colors I used here was Mourning Glory, Alpine Snow, Piroutte My Whistle and Austin-tatious Turquoise. all from O.P.I. Definitely gonna do another and better galaxy nail art again next time.

I Knew I Am Loved

I know this may sound narcissistic and also overrated and you'd probably gonna think "Sas, it was just a coincidence". But I really need to brag and share about how I was loved my my GOD.

The story goes like this. I was supposed to go to church with my cousin to his church this Sunday because I haven't really known where I am going to go to church since I was new in my living place here, in Kelapa Gading. But my cousin unexpectedly said yesterday that he couldn't go with me to the church. I was thinking like, "Okay, maybe I'll skip going to church this Sunday". I actually did really want to go to church though.

I thought a lot and finally had a decision that I had to go to church. But that made me have to walk to a church not too far from where I lived, around 15-20 minutes walk I guess. I am not a person who mind walking though. I am used to it since I was in Guangzhou. But what made me hate walking in Indonesia is there usually will be some guys from the streets who called "amoy" at small-eyed person like me (boo racist) and I really hate that.

I made my decision. No matter what, I'll have to walk my way to the church. Before closing my room's door, I prayed to God in my heart and said "Lord, I am on my way to meet you. Please be with me that I'll reach the church safely". I wore my jacket, put my glasses on, and also a mask (LOL) so people won't recognize me (in hope that I'll simply be "invisible" from those abang-abang LOLOL) and I started to walk.

Little did I know, when I exited to the main street, I was super shocked that the street was freed from the car. IT WAS ACTUALLY A CAR FREE DAY. Suddenly I realized there was a very big smile on my face and what I did next was, taking off my mask and taking big steps with a big smile to the church. Never thought that my Daddy would actually empty a street just for me to go to church LOL.

The walk only took me less than 10 minutes.

Those weren't all. I was afraid that when I go to church, a new comer like me will have the awkward situation where I know nobody and nobody knows me. But thank God, I was really welcomed by the people there and I met so many new friends and had lunch together. Tuhan, kok baik banget sih sama sayaaaaaa :))

However, as it is written : "What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived" - the things God has prepared for those who love Him
- 1 Corinthians 2:9 -

THANK YOU PAPA!! I didn't deserve all this loving but I knew that You are always there with me. Thank you for always surprising me with all the blessings I never thought I'd get and thank You for being my greatest Daddy. #blessed #loved #thankful #grateful :))

Hey Winnie

Another nail art that I managed to work on today. Got the inspiration from a tutorial on Instagram. The Winnie The Pooh was freaking hard, like seriously. I was lucky I did it pretty close to Winnie that people will still see that it was Winnie LOL. I think I still have to learn a lot how to put base color better so it won't get messier than these :P
