So this is another cover from me, this time covering Maroon5's Daylight, my favorite song of the Overexposed album. One of the reason I was covering this is as a "birthday gift" to a friend who's far away from here, don't know if the person will see this or not though LOL. That person (#nomention LOL) has been requesting this song cover for quite a long time but I never got the chance to because I was yeah, busy and my roommates were always at room, but today I got home and found out nobody's home and I quickly grabbed my guitar and made this.

Well, sorry for the bad quality video and sound, also for the noisy sound behind (it was my laptop and I really don't know why he is so noisy LOL). I know it's not perfect, again I am no professional, in singing and playing guitar as well haha. But, I hope you enjoy this then :)

PS. And please excuse my boring face there LOL.

Baby Crayon

It has been so long since the last daily-life posts, hasn't it? But today I finally got the chance to make one yippie. So today me and some good friends went to 金家园 (Jin Jia Yuan) to grab some lunch and also to celebrate Jane's birthday several days ago. This place was a Korean-Chinese restaurant, and these were some of what we had for lunch.

They have good kimchi (in my opinion) and that was the first time I tried tteokbokkie with ramen and the seafood fries was great too. Definitely will give that place another visit again someday. Shall we, Jane? LOL.

By the way, today I managed to do some nail-art drawing for my sister. She has been requesting Crayon Shinchan's from a long time go, and today I finally granted her wish.

So can you guess all the characters out? Some really don't look the same with the real ones but I am pretty satisfied with the result. Not bad for beginners, eh?

Winter is coming soon to Guangzhou. It has been raining nonstop since yesterday and the temperature dropped so rapidly (?) LOL. So I guess I'll have to prepare myself for this weather I don't really like. Well, take care of yourself then peeps. God bless yaa :)

Hey Soul Sister

A letter to one of the loveliest person ever
*drumrolls* So this post is dedicated to one of my favorite friend (also sister) ever who's turning 21 today! So I was planning about that oh-so-common birthday surprise by coming to your room and I bet you'll be able to guess what would happen (giving cake, blowing candles, making wishes and so on) but well this year (again) I chose not to and let your roommates take that part LOL. I was thinking about doing something else different that you will love and since you are a blogger and you *of course* love blogging, so I guess making a blog post is one of the best option I may have. I am always full of surprises, aren't I? *minta dikeplak* haha.

This is the fourth time you celebrated your birthday here in Guangzhou and I still remembered each you spent with me hehe. 2009 when you were "kidnapped" and brought to Honglou, 2010 when I came at midnight to your room and at the evening we went to the badminton court to give you surprise, 2011 last year when I gave you a big box contained something you really wished for winter. Did I get any of them wrong? :P

See I may not be the best among all the friends you have out there, I know sometimes I suck on being a good friend, well you know, nobody's perfect #cliche haha but  but I want to tell you that I love you as a really good friend of mine and I always wish that you're happy with everything you have and you do in your life, and I hope we will remain best friends, forever :)

Geez I'm running out of words haha why is it just so hard to say what we actually really want to express :| So, maybe not really too much words from me. You got some already on the birthday card. Last but not least (again), have a blessed birthday and I wish that you'll always be happy. Keep on being the Jane who is always passionate about things she loves, keep pursuing the dreams you have (which I believed you'll be able to reach) and please keep being Jane who is always positive about her life. Always believe that you are blessed and always loved :)

By the way peeps, visit Jane's lovely blog about her passions and her life here.

Those Glorious Days

After a mention from a senior at high school about our old English debating club, I decided to write this post. Another reason is simply because I miss blogging so much haha and moreover I never wrote about this so I thought "Why not?".

I used to join my school's debating club and my English debating experience had taught me a lot of lessons, improved my offending people's argument  English debating skill and also allowed me to know so many awesome people. One of by best experience, one of the best time in my life was when I got the chance to join 2008 ISDC (Indonesian Schools Debating Championship), one of the most prestigious debating competition for high school students in Indonesia, and to me, it was such an honor to be able to be there.

To join this competition was really such a miracle to me, because to join this event you have to be chosen as the best speaker at the pre-competition stages and I never got chosen even once, but God did some miracle to me that at the last stage of the competition I got my first best speaker title and that brought me to ISDC. Words can not describe how grateful I was back then. It was simply one of the best feeling in life, when you thought you got not even a chance but to God nothing is ever impossible :')

My dear team-mates :)
Amethyst team on 24 Best Speakers Round, with Dimas from JaBar and Idan from Bali.
Peeps from all over Indonesia!
With my house-mates, Elisa and some friends from Santa Ursula.
Pictures quality sucks because they were all taken using my old Sony Ericsson W880i, but what matters the most was the memory, right? This post was written, dedicated to all my debaters friends out there, to all my high school seniors who taught us a lot about debating. I miss you all :')

This post was not supposed to be like this but I really could not describe what I actually wanted to say haha. So let's just take this as a nostalgic moment of my beautiful blessed life. See you guys on the next post and please excuse my randomness :P

Chào Việt Nam

Just got back from around four days trip at Vietnam Hanoi and Halong Bay :) It was the independence day holiday in China that me and three good friends (Ika, Albert and Arbi) managed to go for a short trip to Hanoi.

We reached Hanoi by taking 12 hours bus trip from Guangzhou to Ping Xiang, a city where there is the border of China and Vietnam. After passing the immigration things, we took another 3 hours mini van trip to the city of Hanoi. Pretty tiring though, it was. We started our journey with taking a walk and managed to get to the Hoàn Kiếm Lake.

Hoan Kiem Lake (Vietnamese: Hồ Hoàn Kiếm, meaning "Lake of the Returned Sword" or "Lake of the Restored Sword", also known as Hồ Gươm - Sword Lake) is a lake in the historical center of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. The lake is one of the major scenic spots in the city and serves as a focal point for its public life (data from Wikipedia).

Around the lake there was a market that sells souvenirs, bags, shoes and many other things. We did try one of Vietnamese food there called Nom, if I am not mistaken. According to Google (LOL) it was like Asinan Bogor with some pieces of beef cuts and served with something like mango juice or things like that. Cost VND 30,000 (about IDR 15,000 or USD 1.5) per serving.

The first night at Hanoi, we went to an old street called Ta Hien Street and what we did there was of course, eating LOL. This time what we were trying was the Pho Mai Que or maybe we can simply call it cheese sticks. What I can say about it is it was really cheesy (you don't say? LOL). And very late at night, Ika and Albert decided to have another late night dinner and so did we take a walk around the hotel and found our favorite menu at Hanoi, called Bun Thang (probably means Rice Noodle in Soup, literally).

The next day we booked a day tour to the famous Halong Bay. According to what the tour guide said, this place has around 1969 small islands. According to me, we can not call them all islands because some are just some standing rocks LOL I don't know.

The tour also took us to a cave inside on of the island on Halong Bay called Thien Cung Grotto (Heavenly Cave). It is situated on the south-west side the bay, 4 km from the wharf outside of Ha Long City. The way to Thiên Cung is a perilous one, covered on both sides by thick forest. After entering a narrow gate, the grotto’s 130-meter-long girth opens up. Getting in we are more astonished in front of the very animated and splendid beauty which is made from stalactite. On the east wall of the grotto, there is a grandiose and imposing picture with characters of tales (data from here).

After the tiring one day tour (read : 10 hours on bus, 2 hours sightseeing *le sigh) we chose to end the night with another culinary trip haha. Street food was always on the top of our choice list, so that night we had some seafood something, some sticky rice and thing like Indonesian Lontong and another Bun Thang LOL.

Okay, last day at Hanoi. Again we took some walk and reached Statue of Ly Thai To. Lý Thái Tổ (974-1028) was the founder and first emperor of Vietnam’s Lý Dynasty (1009-1225). After ascending the throne, he moved the capital to Đại La (which he renamed as Thăng Long) in 1010, which in the end becomes present day Ha Noi (data from here).

Last report from Hanoi was about the new food we were trying at Hanoi. At our last day we tried some kind of Vietnamese spring rolls called Nem Ran and Nem Chua. We also visited an old ice cream store at Hanoi called Kem Tràng Tiền and tried its classic ice cream :D

Going to Vietnam was a great new experience for me and I did enjoy it very much. Hope you enjoy this post as much as I do :) Traveling has always made me feel sooooooooooooooo good.
